I'm baking...

brownies!! So this weekend didn't go as planned. But it's probably better for me to just chill this weekend and not worry about going to doing things. To just relax and not have any demands on my time. Hopefully I can get some writing done because I need to send a story off for fencon asap. I slept in (after driving home at 3 in the morning, dumbest thing I've ever done) and have just watched tv doing nothing all day. I'm watching My Best Friend's Wedding, which yes I actually have on DVD but oh well. I love it so I'm going to watch it again anyway.

So. I'm actually a pretty good cook. When I have time to do it all. I especially like to cook Italian food. I make a mean chicken parmigiana. That reminds me of a good quote from a writer at ApolloCon that reading writing books are like reading cookbooks, that sounds good but I'll never make it. lol. I'm reading On Becoming a Novelist so I'm going to keep that in mind. I'm also reading this nifty publication of his college diary.

Oh! I finished Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore. It was great! All the different pov shifts were well done and it all meshed so great. It was a great one shot and made me see that I could write a good novel that doesn't have to be a series. (Well maybe after my career is established. lol. We'll see how it goes.) I want to read A Dirty Job next. Or You Suck. I think he's a great writer. The characters were believable and heart felt. He's also really funny in a subtle way. I hope I can pare down the humor in my stories that way.

Lola, out.

My weekend didn't go as planned either. In fact, it was pretty ridiculously bad. I'll have to tell you the whole story sometime over coffee.

My cardiologist appointment went fine, though. I have a heart... are you shocked? I'm shocked. I get to wear a machine for a day and take a ride on a crazy tilting table until I pass out! I should get someone to tape it so we can watch it drunk sometime. Talk about fun!!
