Listening to "One Love"

although that's not how I'm feeling right now.

At A&M today I'm sincerely afraid for my personal safety wearing my Obama shirt. I've already gotten dirty looks from people. And because of the bull shit I've seen on facebook, from people I actually know, I'm afraid of being hurt and my thoughts about how uneducated a lot of America still is are confirmed. Let's get some things straight:

Obama is not a socialist. We have a socialist party, they had a candidate, it was not Obama.
America will not become socialist. For many reasons I don't feel like expanding on again.
However let's point out such policies as Social Security, taxes, and corporate regulation. All of which are socialist. We already have socialist policies.
And this could get me beat up at A&M (before I would be joking, now I'm not sure) but a little more socialism wouldn't hurt us.
Also the second amendment does not apply to us today. It is not about personal gun use. Besides the fact that Obama would have to change the constitution to change that, Oh! and if you look it up he's already said he didn't want to.

I'm so fed up with violent and ignorant people who can't get educated on the issues and talk out their ass. End of rant.

In other news. WOOT! We have a black president. I'm super excited about it. What I'm more excited about, BUSH IS NOW OFFICIALLY A LAME DUCK! Thank the stars.
I'm also really looking forward to seeing how Michelle Obama does as first lady. We haven't had a really strong first lady affect policy since Eleanor Roosevelt. I hope she steps up and I think she will.

Bob Marley is calming me down right now.
