This really upsets me.

I'll freely admit that I'm not a good catholic anymore. I was raised super catholic and when I went to college along with all my other views of the world my mind was widened. Now I'd consider myself technically agnostic, but being raised Catholic and having to deal with people's misconceptions all the time really affected me. My earliest memory was when my super baptist friends would ask me questions but not really want to hear the answers. That was middle school. Eventually our different faiths caused us to grow apart. Which is a ridiculous reason to not be someone's friend anymore.
Oh what sparked this is that a catholic church in Houston has been experiencing some horrendous hate crimes. Desecration of statues and at one point someone spray painted something to the effect of that you shouldn't worship idols. Reading that article is what upset me. And I figured for once maybe I'll put something serious on this blog.
We don't worship false idols. I've never understood why people think praying to Mary for guidance or support is bad. Give the woman a break! Her whole life was fucked up because of Jesus and she still went on to be the best mom ever. Joseph too all of a sudden his woman is knocked up and not by him but he stood by her. How brave did they have to be? I don't see anything wrong whatsoever in giving them props.
Also when the pope died, through the mercy of God may his soul rest in peace, I had a huge blowout with one of my friend's Church of Christ boyfriend about that we shouldn't have a pope at all.
I HATE when people bible thump at me. No I don't have memorized bible verses in my arsenal to through at unsuspecting bystanders at any moment. But I also don't try to force my religion on people. By the time a cradle Catholic is 18 they will have read the whole bible 9 times through. (I am a cradle Catholic and this is probably true for me because my family did not miss church growing up. Even if we were out of town we found a church in that town to go to on sunday.) Actually learning from it not memorizing it blindly. Sorry to get on my soap box but this is something that's really bothered me my whole life.
The real problem is the people vandalizing that church don't have anything better to do with their time. Which is sad. Do something productive if you have so much time.

Anyway on another note my f key is being weird and I have to hit it really hard for it to type correctly. I also really need to study for the quiz I have in math today. Fuck math.
